"Pigeon Point Lighthouse"

This is another in my California coastal series.  This piece is based on an original photograph done by David Linnig.  I first started using photographs as the basis of my work when I noticed painters at the art shows I was exhibiting at used photographs to paint from.

This piece is made from appliquéd bits of fabric which have been painstakingly cut out and stitched to the background using free motion stitching on a sewing machine.
