Cord On Blue

12" x 12" Mixed Media fiber on metal

This piece was made by covering aluminum flashing (a roofing material) with handmade fabric and turquoise blue suede. Strips were cut from the fiber covered metal and the strips were bound together using a fine wire. The metal was shaped to give a more dimensional look and handmade cording was draped over the entire piece. And, yes, I came up with the name of the piece first.
